When selecting materials for your CubeSat you need to pay attention to the material’s outgassing properties. In general you need to avoid using PVC which includes most wire and heat shrink tubing. You should be looking for materials that are low in % TML (Total Mass Loss) and % CVCM (Collected Volatile Condensable Material).

The BisonSat team relied heavily on NASA’s Outgassing Data for Selecting Spacecraft Materials in meeting these requirements.
